CHA-W 2012 – It’s Here!!

I know a bunch of you are en route or already at CHA soaking up the creativity bursting from the Anaheim Convention Center! I head up tomorrow morning and I am SO ready to be there!! For those of you going to CHA, I would LOVE it if you checked out the Designer Showcase happening on Monday/Tuesday during regular show hours. It’s being held in Room# 204ABC and my display is at Table# 33.

I’m also demonstrating for Eco Green Crafts in Booth# 2688 Sunday/Monday/Tuesday for a couple of hours each afternoon. I know they have some great new products coming out that you will LOVE!

I am so so so excited to share with you today that I am a part of the new DT for Paper Made Bakery! Paper Made Bakery is a kit club just for stampers & card makers! Each kit includes stamps, card bases, envelopes, an entire 6×6 pad of patterned paper from your favorite manufacturers and it’s packed full of embellishments and it all coordinates together fabulously! Just wait until you see what the owner Shannon has in store for the February kit! I just got mine yesterday and I can’t wait to start playing with it and getting some sneak peeks on the blog! I guarantee you will love it – I know I do!!!

There is an awesome group of ladies joining me on the new PMB team, so be sure to check them all out HERE! I bet there are a few familiar faces :)

Today is the hubby’s birthday, so I thought I should share his birthday card. It may have been a leftover from the pub call that didn’t get picked up, but it totally works for my hubby! The End of January

Where has the month gone? It seems like we were ringing in the new year only a few days ago and now we’re almost to the end of January. I’ve been busy, busy in my crafty area but nothing I can show just yet. Once CHA is done I’ll have some things to share finally!

A couple people posted in the comments of a previous post asking about the CHA Designer Showcase and wanting to know what it is. The CHA Designer Showcase is a room of table-top displays put together by CHA Designer Members that act as three-dimensional portfolios for the creative services designers can provide to the industry. I’ve been hard at work on my display for a couple weeks now and I am so happy to say it’s all coming together and I think I may finish it a day or two early. I promise to show pictures of my display once I get home from CHA next week! Until then, I have a simple but sparkly bookmark to share with you. You probably won’t hear from me again until Friday, so until then…Have a great week!

The Sundays

After going back and forth on whether or not to try my hand at couponing, I finally decided last week to give it a go. I signed up for a newspaper subscription and my new Sunday morning routine is all about the couponing! It literally took me all day to get signed up for my local grocery store’s programs, print out coupons and match them up with store coupons. Then I took what was on sale and planned out our meals for the week. After shopping today, we saved 33% on our groceries. I know each week it will get better and we’ll have bigger savings once I get a good stash of coupons. Maybe one day I’ll have a killer haul like Michelle! :)

So that was my day. I had a cup of coffee at 5pm to keep me going tonight so hopefully it doesn’t wake me up too much that I can’t fall sleep later! :) Right now I should be baking some raisin bran muffins and then brownies for tomorrow but I’m not feeling it right now, so I’ll do it in the morning.

I’ll leave you with a picture of Parker, one of my sweet kitties. She’s actually more of teenager cat than a kitty at this point, but adorable in any case!

Hello and Happy Friday! I have a card to share with you that wasn’t picked up for a recent pub call. I’m actually kind of happy this didn’t get picked up because it gives me something to share on my blog, lol. I know I’ve mentioned this before, but my blog is going to be quiet through the end of the month. Rainbow Bright Birthday

Happy Friday!! I was playing with some new-to-me papers from Pretty Little Studio tonight and came up with this fun birthday card for this week’s Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger challenge. I *love* the little “Hello My Name Is” journaling cards! So adorable! The balloons on the card were kind of an afterthought. After I had the card finished, I thought it needed something more, so in came the balloons.

I’m participating in the Designer Showcase at CHA-W in Anaheim at the end of the month and have been busy at work on my display. I want to make it the absolute best I can, so that is where my focus will be for the remainder of the month. If my blog seems kind of quiet, that is why.

New Year, New Project!

Happy New Years! I hope you ushered in the new year in a big, fun way! We had a Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie marathon that wrapped up about 15 minutes before the clock struck midnight. Very low-key and I was with family, so it was perfect! While watching the movies last night I finished up a project for our living room. It will fit in perfectly with our red corduroy couch and turquoise area rug! The painted frame is a $5 find at Tuesday Morning – got to love a good deal!

2011: A Review in Words and Pictures

The end of 2011 has come quickly for me and my family. I took an impromptu road trip to Seattle and back that took me away from home for a week and a half. When I came back it was Christmas with extended family and then last night we celebrated Christmas at home. Tonight we will feast on BBQ shredded pork sandwiches and homemade mac n’ cheese and then at midnight we’ll have sparkling cider, fancy cheeses and crackers to ring in the new year.

The beginning of 2011 I honestly don’t remember much of, so it must not have been very eventful! The summer saw me take a long, much needed break from crafting and I also lost my job. I’ve spent the fall coming up with ideas and making decisions on what direction I want my life to take. I’m really looking forward to 2012. I hope it holds something new and different for me, because I enjoy change and am ready for a big one!

I thought I would share a few favorites that I made from 2011. The first is a scrapbook layout of one of my kitty girls, Parker. This page uses Pebbles’ Happy Go Lucky collection.

This is a simple Valentine’s card using Bo Bunny’s Crush collection.

Next is a card I had published in a Paper Crafts Magazine publication from earlier in the year. It features stamps from Clear & Simple Stamps.

Next up is a card that uses Mint Motif stamps for the cloud background and some button balloons. I was inspired by Papertrey Ink’s Button Bits stamp set, but wanted to do a version of my own.

And last is this snazzy number! The combination of the faint polka dots, orange flowers and pink doily really make this one a winner for me!

I want to share with you one last picture from this year. It’s a picture of me and Katie Renz from CHA-W 2010. I spent many months on a design team with Katie and will be forever grateful I was able to meet her in person. I am fairly shy and when meeting new people I’m not very talkative. I felt very comfortable talking with Katie and didn’t feel like my typical “shy” self and really enjoyed our short time together.
