Buttons & Brads Garden

If the way I started my morning says anything about how my day is going, I can sum it up in one word: LAZY! I somehow managed to sleep in until 11am! Typically sleeping in for me is 9am or so on the weekend. I must have been tired after this past week. I had some cereal and settled into my little craft area to make some cards. What I really *should* be doing is make my way to the post office. I have some lingering monthly swaps (1 ends this month – yay!) that I need to get out in the mail this weekend. I don’t know if I’m going to be able to convince myself to go out of the house this weekend…

My first card for today was made with a couple challenges in mind. Stamp Something is hosting their 7th challenge this week with a great sketch. The OCC is also hosting a great challenge – use at least
1 button and 1 brad on your project. Easy peasy!

I started with a stamp from Flirty Flowers by Unity. I paper pieced the flowers in different colors and used buttons and brads to give the image some texture and depth. The paper pieced flowers are popped up on dimensionals. The rest of the card follows the sketch challenge. The dp is great stuff by A Muse – I’m a sucker for polka dots.

Stamps: Flirty Flowers (Unity)
Ink: Garden Green, Rose Red, So Saffron, Regal Rose, Elegant Eggplant, Ballet Blue
Paper: Whisper White, Rose Red, So Saffron, Ballet Blue, A Muse dp
Other: buttons, brads, ric rac
Techniques: paper piecing
