Black Magic

I’m a fairly lazy stamper when it comes to trying new techniques. It’s not that I don’t like them, I’ve just found I’m a more simple stamper than most of the techniques available out there to try. So what was it about today’s TLC challenge that was different? I don’t know, lol! The Black Magic technique requires very little effort and uses items most stampers already own: watercolor pencils, white craft ink, black cardstock and OMS, baby oil or in my case, Goo Gone.

I started out by stamping the cocktail dress in Craft White ink on Basic Black cardstock and heat setting the ink. I then colored in the dress with different shades of blue watercolor pencils. I then filled an aquapainter with Goo Gone and painted over the colored image, using the Goo Gone to blend the shades together. After the image dried, I finished up the card using Nestabilities oval dies, ribbon, primas and some awesome dp from American Crafts. I couldn’t help myself and added 3 crystals along the waist of the dress.

Stamps: Cocktail Party (Unity)
Paper: PTI white, Baja Breeze, American Crafts dp
Ink: Craft White
Accessories: primas, mini brads, rhinestones, oval Nestabilities, ribbon
Techniques: Black Magic
