Ladies in the Limelight ~ Week 13

Hello!! I know I’ve been a little quiet since I returned back from my trip on Monday. I spent Tuesday at work watching the inauguration (yay!) and Tuesday night showing my mom the scoop on blogging. Yesterday I was home from work with a case of the yuckies and prepping for today’s sketch and product challenge hosted by Limelight Papercrafts.

I really love this week’s sketch and product challenge. Using this sketch, we are to use 2 different stamps while making our card. How easy peasy is that!?! Think your image and a sentiment and you’ve got yourself a card! Maybe you want to do what I’ve done and make your own background/dp? Lots of possibilities on this one. :)

I started by inking up my Distressed Dots stamp in pink and stamping on PTI white paper. I then inked up the same stamp in green and stamped on top of the pink dots. I then used one of the butterflies from the Butterfly Beauty set and sponged pink on the body, then green on the wings and then I stamped the image onto PTI white paper and then cut it out.

One of my favorite “tricks” that I used here is you take the Silver Kaisercraft Rhinestones and color them using an alcohol-based marker ( I used a Copic ) to change the color of the rhinestone to the color of the marker you chose. I colored the rhinestones to make them a lime green color to match the green in the dotted background I made.

The “thank you” sentiment was made using the super cute Pink Paislee Holly Doodle alphabet stickers.

Now for the FUN part! We would absolutely LOVE it if you played along with us. Here are the details of what you need to participate…

** Sketch and Product Challenge with a focus on using two or more DIFFERENT stamps.
** Uploads to SCS should have the keyword: LLPC013.
** Participants should post a comment and a link to their card on Mandy’s blog.
** All entries must be submitted by Sunday, January 25th, at midnight to win a Stampendous single of their choice!

  1. Very cool! I love the double background and colored butterfly! Great tip on the rhinestones – I’ve done that on pearls, never thought about doing it on rhinestones!
