Unity’s Friends with Flair – Week 1

Hello!  If you are joining me from the Unity blog for Friends with Flair – welcome :) Both of my cards today were made specifically for the September Guest DT challenge posted on SplitcoastStampers.  We were issued a color challenge and a toughy at that! Orange, purple, green and black.  Halloween colors, right?  The only catch is there aren’t really any Halloween themed stamps in either the July or August Kit of the Month kits.  What’s a girl to do??
I started with the patchy heart stamp and stamped it in Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Orchid Opulence.  I wasn’t satisfied with how that looked and saw my Copic Multliner sitting there and thought maybe some doodling would help.  I started with the pumpkins then after brainstorming with my hubby, the bats and Frankensteins were born!  I know it’s a silly card and I know I can’t draw, but I really had fun with this one. Please be kind :)

My next card is more serious, if you can even call it that!  I’ve used the July kit again, stamping the sun in Pumpkin pie and the sentiment in Memento’s tuxedo black.  The fun polka dot paper is the Kitchen line from A Muse.  I finished it off with some matching buttons threaded with Bazzill In Stitchz floss and some zig zag stitching as an afterthought.

Thanks again for stopping by, and happy blog hopping!  Have a great weekend :)

  1. Okay, I seriously love the “silly” card at the top. You should be serious ALL the time and this card is just adorable! I love it. I just might have to case it here pretty soon, and I thought your doodling turned out amazing!

  3. Oh my goodness that first card is so cute! I didn’t realize you drew those on until I read it. I was thinking where can I find those faces stamps! Adorable! Love your second card too! Fabulous colors!
