Happy Halloween my friends! We will be staying home tonight to pass out candy. This is our first year in this neighborhood so we don’t know what to expect. I just hope we don’t run out of candy! Whatever you are doing tonight, have a fun and safe holiday!!
Welcome to the Breast Cancer Awareness Blog Hop(e)! If you are joining me from Ashley’s blog – you are in the right place! If you’ve happened upon my blog some other way, why not start back at the beginning HERE. :)
In 2002 I participated in the 3 day, 60 mile walk for Breast Cancer. I remember how exhausted I was. How my feet hurt and I couldn’t walk without limping by the time I was done. I remember how much I hated “camping” in the tent city that was set up for us each night. But I also remember the amazing people I met. The incredible stories I heard. Some were of sorrow and loss. Others were of triumph and survival. Many tears were shed. Many hugs were given. It was an amazing experience I will never forget.
Thank you for joining me today. Next up in the Breast Cancer Awareness Blog Hop(e) is Anita! Go HERE next!
Have a great weekend :)
Today is another sketch/product challenge this week sponsored by Limelight Papercrafts. Typically we focus on a particular product but this week is a little different. We have a special guest designer playing along (Lauren Meader) so Mandy thought it would be fun to have a butterfly theme this week. Who doesn’t love butterflies?!? And more important – who doesn’t have butterfly products? Whether is paper or stamps or punches – I think everyone will be able to play along this week!
For my card I pulled out some yummy Jillibean Soup paper from their Minestrone collection – Sliced Leek! This paper is so much fun. I love the bright primary colors and fun design of the paper. I’ve also use last months Unity Stampin’ Store kit – Everything Extraordinary. The gingham ribbon is from Bazzill.
Now the fabulous part of today’s sketch/product challenge is YOU! We would *love* it if you played along with us :) To help encourage you, we’ve got a fabulous prize for a random participant! Here are the deets:
**Use the sketch above and try to incorporate your favorite BUTTERFLIES!!
**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC033.
**Post a comment with a link to your card on MANDY’S BLOG by this Sunday night
**One lucky winner will receive the stamps: Mod Dot Butterfly and Ruffled Butterfly!

This week’s Clean and Simple challenge (CAS38) at Splitcoaststampers is a fun one – use brads or eyelets! I know they are both severely neglected by me, so I decided to make brads the focus of my card.
To get the evenly spaced placement I wanted, I first stamped PTI’s Polka Dot Basics onto my card base. I then used large brads to cover the stamped dots! Easy peasy :)
Stamps: Polka Dot Basics (Papertrey Ink); Tree Trimming Trio sentiment (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (white)
Ink: Memento (tuxedo black)
Accessories: Doodlebug Designs crushed velvet brads
Hello and welcome! With today’s hop in mind, I finally sat down today and figured out my holiday cards for this year. The beauty of this design is I can easily swap out for different colors, so I will probably make 4-5 per color. This one uses Raspberry Fizz. I’m thinking of doing some in Pure Poppy, Aqua Mist, Berry Sorbet and maybe Plum Pudding. I love mixing non-traditional colors in with more traditional images like a Christmas Tree!
Typically I would have used buttons for the ornaments but I tried to leave off anything bulky since the plan is to mass produce these. I couldn’t resist a little Dark Chocolate satin ribbon though :)
Thank you for stopping by and taking a peek. I hope you find lots of ideas and inspiration in today’s hop!!
Stamps: Tree Trimming Trio (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: kraft; white; dark chocolate (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: 2008 Bitty Dot Basiscs – raspberry fizz (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: soft suede; melon mambo (Stampin’ Up!)
Accessories: dark chocolate satin ribbon (Papertrey Ink)
Other: dimensional adhesive
Whew! I feel like I’ve been gone forever! I know I’ve been neglected my blog lately. I’ve had a couple of projects I’ve been working on that has consumed a lot of my time so I’ve had to ease up on some other things – my blog was one of them. I do have a few things lined up to post over the next week or so, so it shouldn’t be too quiet here. *smile*
First off, I want to tell you about a challenge site I stumbled across about a month ago. It’s not new, but it’s new to me and so very me! It’s called Clean and Simple Stamping and for the most part it is sketch challenges focusing on clean and simple layouts. You can find out more about it HERE! This is the first I’ve played along with their Fall-To Layout challenges and I’ve used one from last month for my card today. I just adore this layout! I had some difficulty photographing this card. I did some adjusting in GIMP but it still looks a bit washed out to me. Guess I’ve gotten rusty!
