You Are Fabulous!

So yesterday I had what I think has been the most productive day I’ve had in a really long time!  I got some “work” stuff done, applied for a couple of jobs, made a couple of cards and started on a couple design team assignments.  I also did some clean-up and re-organizing of my craft area.  All of this was fueled by a couple cups of coffee throughout the day.  :)  I’m starting my day today with coffee in hope of a repeat of yesterday!

I have a standing Monday “date” with a couple of crafty friends each week.  This past Monday I made a couple of cards for the Gallery Idol contest Paper Crafts mag is putting on.  This is one of those cards…  I’m also entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Clean & Simple challenge.

Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (white, pure poppy)
Patterned Paper: Lily Bee Design (Buttercup collection)
Accessories: Martha Stewart (chipboard shapes); Pebbles Inc. (dimensional die cut); Kaisercraft (pearls)

You’re the Best

Hi there!  It’s Tuesday and a somewhat quiet day in my house.  I’ve skipped doing chores in favor of crafting today.  Shhh, don’t tell!  ;)

Moxie Fab World posted a new Tuesday Trigger today and I had to play along.  Nearly every Christmas growing up my mom would make Jell-O cookies and they were among my favorites to snack on as a child.  I haven’t had them in years, so when I saw them as this week’s Trigger, I knew I wanted to play along!  I used the bright colors and the shape of cookies as inspiration for my card.  My sentiment is of the encouraging kind to fit in with the Gallery Idol contest as well.

Stamps: Wilson Designs (Let’s Rock)
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (white, smokey shadow)
Patterned Paper (American Crafts Amy Tangerine collection)
Ink: Jenni Bowlin (fountain pen)
Accessories: The Twinery (bakers twine); May Arts (ribbon); Buttons Galore & More (button)
Other: sewing machine, thread

Mint Motif: Lots of Love

Hello and happy Wednesday!  Today I start a new diet.  Not a diet as in to lose weight diet (although I need one of those too!).  I mean diet in the sense of a new way to eat.  I’ve been having problems with energy/sleepiness for months and I’m finally making it a priority to figure it all out.  I’m hoping I get some resolution soon, I really need it!

Okay, so enough about my health woes.  I’ve got a card to share!  I’m playing along with this week’s CAS-ual Fridays challenge, Name That Tune.  I’m a huge music fan and a lover of all things CAS, so this is the perfect challenge for me.

Since my hubby and I just celebrated our fifth anniversary, I’m still on a love kick, so I made a lovey card today.  I chose “Piece of My Heart” by Janis Joplin as the inspiration for my card.  A classic song and a personal favorite of mine!  :)

For You, Mom

I have another Mother’s Day card to share.  I thought I would make a couple different ones this year.  My mom reads my blog, so now she won’t know which one she’s getting since there is more than one Mother’s Day card.  Hah!  (hi mom!)  :)

I took a cue from this weeks CAS-ual Fridays challenge to use pastels and black on my card.  I rarely ever use black, so this was a great way to push me outside my comfort zone. My flower was made by cutting squares and rounding two opposite corners, then fitting together to make a flower.  Super easy and super fun!  I also used scraps from my stash which is always a good thing!

Supplies used:
Stamps: Stampendous! (Thanks Mom – sentiment)
Cardstock: Papertrey Ink (white, true black)
Patterned Paper: Pebbles (Happy Go Lucky collection); Bo Bunny (Double Dots collection); Webster’s Pages (Sunday Picnic collection)
Ink: Papertrey Ink (white)
Accessories: Pebbles (alphabet stickers); May Arts (rustic twine); button
Tools: EK Success corner rounder (medium)

A Mom Card

On Mondays I’ve been going to a new friends house for papercrafting fun and this card is one of my creations made during one of those trips.  I recently realized that I no longer have any Mother/Father’s Day stamps.  The perils of selling your unused stamps, I guess. When I saw the new This & That collections from Echo Park I scooped up the chipboard specifically for the parental unit phrases.  Now I’m covered for another year!  :)

I’m also entering this into this week’s CAS-ual Fridays challenge!
