Santa Claus is Coming to Town

He really is!  As in, tomorrow night!  Yay!!  We will be celebrating Christmas late tomorrow night after my hubby is home from work and picking up my stepson.  So excited!!  Can you tell?  hehe  Then we’ll move right into our New Years Eve festivities.

For dinner we typically do fondue, but this year I’m going to make BBQ shredded pork sandwiches and homemade mac ‘n’ cheese.  Then when it’s ball-dropping time we’ll have some sparkling cider, crackers and “fancy” cheeses!  Mmmm!  I plan on making sugar cookie cutouts with icing and sprinkles and I’ve had a request for brownies and bran muffins too, so I see some serious baking in my near future!

I have my last Christmas card to share with you today.  It’s a pretty simple design, one that I first did a couple years ago on a card that was picked up in my very first Paper Crafts Magazine publication.  Awww!

Happy Holiday Tree

I have a step-son that we typically get every other weekend.  We don’t ever get him for the big holidays, so for things like Christmas, we usually wait a week or so after the holiday before we celebrate at our house.  I think we are still waiting to hear if he is coming over this weekend or not, so for now Christmas at our house is on hold.  The reason I’m mentioning this, is maybe you will forgive me for today’s Christmas card and the more to come…  I know a lot (most?) people are moving on, but not me.  Not yet!

Santa for Hire

Hello!  I am currently on my way home to San Diego from Seattle.  I’m driving and it was an impromptu trip, so I didn’t pack anything crafty to play with on the way.  I should be home Wednesday evening if all goes well!  I thought I would stop in and post a picture I took on my cell phone of Santa that my mom and I saw on the ferry to Seattle.  I love that you can see the Santa’s profile in his car.  My mom and I were really laughing at this!

Chalkboard Tags

First off, thank you so much to those who left comments on my Tuesday Trigger win – I really appreciate it!!

The last couple of days have been busy for me!  I am a new designer member with CHA and will have a space in the Designer Showcase so I have been busy planning things out.  I know the show is still 6 weeks out, but the time will go by fast!!  Anyone else going to CHA?

I have a fun tag to share with you today.  I used a sheet of 1/64″ birch plywood and used my Spellbinders dies to cut out the shapes of my tag.  I then used some chalkboard paint and painted the cut out wood shapes.  I did two coats then let it dry overnight.  After rubbing chalk on the painted wood and then rubbing it off, it was ready to use!  This was a really easy project to make.  I love that you can use them over and over again!  A different theme/holiday – tons of possibilities!

ETA:  I have a card featured on the Paper Smooches blog today!  Yay!!

Tuesday Trigger: Deck the Halls

Today has been a nice mix of getting stuff done and being lazy.  I started my day by not going to bed until, oh about 5:45am this morning!  Craziness!!  My hubby woke me up at 7:45am to say goodbye before leaving for work.  I got up and messed around on the computer until 9:00am when my hubby comes home!  He is a UPS delivery guy and didn’t get a route this morning, so we ended up hanging out all day!  This included finishing Christmas shopping for my step-son, buying new kitchen knives and having lunch at a local sandwich shop.  When we came home, it was nap time!  I slept about an hour, so I’m running on about 3 hours sleep total for the day.  I am tired and a bit silly right now.

While I was awake in the wee hours of the morning, I made a card using this weeks Tuesday Trigger over at Moxie Fab World.  When I first saw this picture, I’m pretty sure my heart skipped a beat.  *swoon*  My interpretation is pretty literal between the ornaments, the shiny-ness and the colors.  ETA:  I made the ornaments by cutting three circles out per color using a Nestabilities die, then adhering them together.
