Love My Geek

I live in San Diego, CA and every July the geeks from all over come out to play at Comic-Con.  It’s way more than just a “comic book” convention.  Really it should be renamed PopCulture-Con – that would be a more fitting title.  CC is this weekend and my hubby and step-son are there now.  I decided not to go this year and I’m glad now as the timing wouldn’t have worked with getting my wisdom teeth out – I would have missed the first half of the Con.  In honor of my very favorite geek, I made this layout!

Cardstock: Bazzill (white)
Patterned Paper: Echo Park (For the Record collection)
Accessories: Echo Park (For the Record collection); American Crafts Thickers (alphabet stickers)

A Parker the Kitty Page

Yesterday I went to a 12 hour crop and actually made a scrapbook layout.  I’ve been wanting to start up scrapbooking on a regular basis for a while now and Amy’s challenge was just the motivation I needed to get the ball rolling!  I only really finished this one layout.  My second one was a hot mess so I trashed it!  I re-printed the picture and will try again this afternoon.

This is a layout of my sweet Parker girl when she was an itty bitty kitty!  Love that little face peeking out of the empty soda box!  It’s she the cutest thing ever?

Stamps: Papertrey Ink (Just the Ticket)
Patterned Paper: Pebbles (Happy Go Lucky collection)
Ink: Stampin Up (real red)
Accessories: Pebbles (Happy Go Lucky chipboard embellishments); Melissa Frances (scalloped bag); Papertrey Ink (twine, buttons); American Crafts (alphabet stickers)
Tools: Stampin Up (slot punch); Papertrey Ink die (ticket); Tim Holtz distresser

Love Layout

Yes – you read that right – a layout!  This is a layout I made for Round 2 of the Spellbinders Design Team contest that I ended up not submitting.  I really love the color combo on this – red, yellow and turquoise – YUM!

Cardstock: Bazzill Basics (brick); Clear & Simple Stamps (perfect little black dress); Papertrey Ink (vintage cream)
Patterned Paper: Bo Bunny Press (Back to Basics collection); October Afternoon (Good Cheer collection)

Accessories: Spellbinders Nestabilities (labels one, classic circles small, classic hearts); American Crafts thickers; bakers twine; buttons

Hip Hop Hangover Unity Style

Hello and happy Hip Hop Hangover! I made this layout last night while listening to a Harry Potter audiobook with the hubby. I have today off due to the holiday (yay!) so I hope to get some stuff done around the house. We moved in well over a month ago and we still haven’t finished unpacking. Admittedly most of the mess is mine… :)

Here is a close-up of the flowers… I layered them a few times and popped each layer up using foam mounting squares. Clicking on the pictures will make them bigger!

I used Unity stamps from the Kit of the Month sets from March and April. I loosely followed this month’s Unity Guest DT sketch posted over in the Unity forums on Splitcoast. Designer paper from Cosmo Cricket and October Afternoon.

Thanks for looking! Have a fun and safe holiday weekend :)

ETA: I just realized I didn’t put a “title” on my page. I’m such a newb!

Limelight Scrapping Challenge

This month’s guest designer for Limelight Papercrafts, Amy Castellano, designed this great layout and issued the design team a scrapbooking challenge based on her layout.  I’ve used some fun October Afternoon (Detours and Night Light lines) paper and Unity’s Giggle Grove stamps along with pictures of my hottie husband to come up with the layout I am sharing with you today.  With the exception of the buttons, all the supplies I’ve used today comes from Limelight Papercrafts.

Happy Together

I had some time this morning to play along with the new sketch over at Creative Scrappers. I woke up at 5:30am and it was already up so I came up with this LO. My favorite thing about this layout is the designer paper. It’s called Waterberry and it’s from Kaisercraft. I picked it up at my LSS and I wish now that I had gotten more than just 1 page of each design. I *love* the colors in this paper! I thought it would be hard to match with embellishments as the colors are not common but it wasn’t hard at all.

I used some chipboard flowers and bird that came in a past Studio Calico kit (February) and painted it with Shimmerz Blingz in Wintergreen. The journaling area is a Unity stamp from their November KOTM. The butterflies are from at Martha Stewart punch I picked up at Michaels. The letters are Thickers by American Crafts.

Until then!
