Where to Begin?

Let’s see… Last time we spoke I had gotten a new pool and a new job!  Both are excellent, thank you for asking!  :)  I spent Friday night with a great group of friends making Christmas cards, complete with holiday music and a DIY Ice Cream Sundae bar!  Today I’m doing a Garden Art card class today with some of the same friends.  Should be an excellent afternoon!!   :)

So last week I was all about using my scraps and leftover bits and pieces.  The butterfly is from Heidi Swapp and something I had inked up many, many moons ago.  The patterned paper is My Minds Eye and the sentiment is a new Studio Calico/Hero Arts stamp.  Not a super complicated card but I’m loving the colors!!

Talk to you soonish!!

Heat Wave

Hello everybodeeeeeee!  How’s it hanging?  We’ve been having some crazy HOT weather lately.  We rent our house and it doesn’t have A/C, so we’ve been melting daily!  We bought a swamp cooler a couple months ago but even that hasn’t been enough for us lately. So…. we bought an above-ground POOL! Woo hoo!  We just finished figuring out the chemicals that are needed and tomorrow we should be able to go out in it!  I’m *SO* excited!!  :)  My new swimsuit was just delivered today, so I’m all ready for tomorrow!

I have a card to share with you today!  I was playing with my scraps a lot last week and this is one of the results.  The tag is American Crafts/Amy Tangerine and the paper is a mix of Echo Park, Lily Bee Design and maybe someone else?  I lost track!  :)

I hope you are having a great week!  Only one more day until Friday FUN day! Enjoy!

Hello Again

Hey hey hello! (said in my best Parker Posey voice)  :)  Long time no see, right? Just as you were thinking I dropped off the face of the blogging world, I pop back in again!   :)  So my lazy photographer (aka ME!) got off her lazy bum and took some pictures FINALLY, so I have some stuff to share for the next few days… Yay!!!  :)

Today/tomorrow the hubby and I are driving up to the OC for a concert, some good grub and some CRAFTED fun!

I found a cool card on Pinterest that I wanted to CASE because it was just that awesome! Come to find out it’s a CASE of a CASE of an inspired card!  That’s a lot of inspiration, ya’ll!  So here are my boy/girl birthday cards based on the above mentioned cards…

Have a great weekend!!!

Up to Date

Hello!  How are you?  Today is my first day at my new job.  It’s only a part time job, but I’m so happy to be back in the workforce!  :)  I have been crafting a lot the last couple of days but my photographer is being super lazy (uh, that would be me…)  So instead of sharing a new creation that I made, I thought I would share a new creation that I bought. Or more correctly, my hubby bought me!  Hah!

I desperately needed (aka wanted) a new purse.  While surfing around on Etsy a few weeks ago I came across this lovely.  It was love at first site I tell ya!  It’s a custom made item and I’ve been so (not) patiently waiting for it’s arrival to my home.  Tick tock… Still waiting, but soon I hope!!  :)

Busy Bee

Happy Friday!  :)  So I have some super happy good news to share!  After being unemployed for almost exactly a year, I finally got a new job!  Woo hoo!  :)  Can you tell I’m just a little excited?  Hah!  I start my new job on Wednesday and am looking forward to it!!

I have a super busy card to share today.  I’m loving the colors of this patterned paper from My Minds Eye and kept putting more and more onto my card, lol. Way busier than my usual stuff, but sometimes you just gotta go with it!  I paper pieced the bee and used some of my favorite May Arts ribbon.

I hope you all have a great weekend!  My new job is business casual and I am finding that I don’t have much in that department, so I get to do some clothes shopping!  :)  See you back here on Sunday with my final Paper Made Bakery sneak!

A Retro Hi

Last week I got a phone call from a friend of mine that lives out of state (Washington).  I had recently sent her a card similar to the one below.  She called asking if I would make her ten cards that she could use to send out to her clients.  This is one of those cards.  I *love* this patterned paper from Echo Park and thought it would be perfect for a retro styled card.  I made each card different while still keeping to the same design.  I hope she likes them!!

Living in a Cave

A few months ago the hubby and I moved our shared office/craft space from our converted garage into the living room.  The converted space has tons of room and lots of windows.  The living room is much smaller and only has windows on one of the walls, so it feel dark and cave-like to me.  I don’t like dark and cave-like!  After thinking on how to fix this, I decided a redecoration of our living room was in order.

We currently have a red corduroy Ikea couch with a teal area rug and a painting with both colors that was done by my FIL.  In the other room it was fine.  In this much smaller room, it is not.  All three of these things are being replaced (yay!)  I’m switching the cover on the couch with this one.

Next up is the teal rug.  I think we’ll end up relocating it to our bedroom.  I found a sweet rug online at Urban Outfitters after a quick search online for yellow rugs.  I’m really drawn to yellow right now and I think it will look killer with the new couch cover.

I think I may end up throwing some gray into the mix by getting some throw pillows for the couch.   There are some cute ones making the rounds on Pinterest, so I may be in for a DIY pillow project soon!

So there we go, my attempt at turning my cave-like living room into something more habitable.  The couch cover will take a month to get made so it will still be a few weeks living in this “cave” but I see the light at the end and it makes me SO HAPPY!   :)
