Each month Mandy over at Limelight Papercrafts challenges the design team to a themed challenge. This month we were to make a home decor item and matching card in Halloween theme.
I’ve had a wooden oval frame I picked up for $1 at Michaels a couple months ago so I had the perfect starting point! I used some black Making Memories craft paint to cover the front and backside of the frame. While it was drying I started cutting out circle in different Pink Paislee Twilight papers. I cut them in three different sizes. I then used my Heidi Swapp distressing tool and distressed all the edges of the circles. I layered the flowers together and topped them with clear buttons from the Making Memories Spook Alley line. Here is a close up of the flowers:
On one of the flowers, instead of using a button I used a Pink Paislee Twilight rub-on. You can see a close up of it here:
After adhere the flowers to the frame, I used some Kaisercraft rhinestones to border the inside edge of the frame. I don’t have any halloween themed pictures so I just lined the front of the frame with another piece of Pink Paislee Twlight paper : ) Here is the completed frame:
And my matching mini-card:
