Six Chicks’ (+2 more) Friendly Valentine’s Day Gift!

Good morning and happy Friday! Am I the only one that is super happy the working week is almost done? I’ve been waiting for today all week long for more than just the weekend. I’ve been wanting to share my latest project with you!

First a little background… Every month Mandy over at Limelight Papercrafts challenges the Design Team to make a themed project and matching card. For the month of February we were challenged to make a Valentine’s gift and card for a friend.

I doubled up my project for a couple of things today. I know that Unity is doing their Hip Hop Hangover and this fits perfectly with that. I was able to do a little Hip Hopping last night so I am happy I have something to show for today!

My bff Jennifer lives in Washington (I’m in California) so we only get to see each other like once a year but we talk all the time! I’ve known her since I was 16 and just love her to pieces. She has the biggest heart of anyone I’ve ever known. I wanted to make something nice for her as she’s just done something huge for me and I needed a way to say thank you with more than just words.

I’ve made this journal and matching card for her. I used paper from Crate Paper and Basic Grey. The stamps I used are from the set Shine On! from Unity Stamp Co. and the September KOTM. The pearls are from Kaisercraft.

My favorite part of my project are the flowers – let me tell you about them! I used my circle Nestabilities to cut out circles in 3 different sizes. I then used my Heidi Swapp distresser and distressed all the edges of the circles. I then cut out petals in each of the circles and layered them on top of each other then finished each flower off with a pearl in the center. I LOVE the way these turned out.
